One of the things I love about Vancouver is it’s plethora of local talent. There are so many great artists here! You can literally find something up every alley. A few weeks ago I had the awesome pleasure of shooting some portraits of local singer Piper McKinnon. She is an awesome vocalist/pianist who is has this fantasticly earthy, melodic voice and belts out some really fantastic tunes. All of her work is original and written by her as well. She rang me up a few weeks back about some new promo shots for her upcoming album, and I was more than glad to jump on board and help her out. I’ve covered a few of her shows here in Vancouver so it was more than a pleasure to work with her in a different medium this time round. We spent a few hours checking out some of my favorite areas of Vancouver one afternoon and here’s some shots from the shoot!

John these are crazy-good! I can’t pick a favorite! The crouching one on the railroad has the most impact (I think!) but the colors on all of them are so intense! I love em! Seriously bud, I have to pick your brain on your lighting and posing techniques someday soon!
Nice work!! I don’t think I’m capable of picking a favorite either…
This woman is awesome in front of the camera – definitely connects well with her eyes. Beautiful photos!
