So, that said, there’s so much going on with work, life, the world, yowza.
I won’t get into anything political on here as I don’t want this blog to be about that, but I will say it is exciting to see what lays ahead in the world with some of the great changes recently. Although, conversely, there’s certainly some downright depressing shifts taking place that I can’t even begin to express my disgust in. But, I digress…..
I turned 30 on October 27th.
It’s a biggy! I think I’ve settled into the fact that a new decade in my life has commenced, but it still sounds odd to say I’m in my thirties. I’m so damn lucky that life has given me all the oppurtunities it has and that I am confident in who I am and where my life is going. The twenties were definitely all about figuring myself out and finding those jumping stones to help me move on. I think the thirties have a lot to bring me so I am really looking forward to them. I have two 2 dear friends who also celebrate birthdays in October so we had a group birthday celebration called Rawktoberfest! We went to The Rugby Beach Club for dinner and drinks, which was fantastic. Then after dinner some good friends hosted a birthday party at their house for us! There was a karaoke machine in attendance and LOTS of people showed up to celebebrate with us so needless to say, it was super fun. It was an awesome time spent with my hubs and all my good friends…I am so incredibly thankful to have them all in my lives. Kristopher’s brother came into town from Toronto for the week of my birthday, so it was great to have him around and spend some time with him again. On my actual birthday, myself, Kris and Kevin went to the island for a little daytrip to Victoria. Turned out to be a great day for it and we had a nice time checking out the city. We finished the day off with a trip to Hatley Castle as I have a wedding booked there next year and I’ve been dieing to check it out. The place is absolutely magical and I am soooooo excited to shoot Melanie and Stephen’s wedding there next year. Here’s an HDR shot of the castle….look at how beautiful this place is!

I have my last wedding of the season coming up at the end of November and although it will be nice to have a break, it’s a bit saddening! I love what I do and love working with the great people I do, so that part will certainly be missed over the winter months. However, 2009 bookings are off to a great start and I’m looking forward another year of great weddings and clients. I also some other exciting shoots coming up like an album promo shoot and some family portraits sessions.
Ok….so enough babbling!
I’ll leave you with some photos from my birthday party…..:)
