Yay – we set up our tree this weekend and I just love it! Decided to go with a smaller tree this year and I’m glad we did so – It’s just perfect for our place!

Pumpkin patch time!

We are knee deep in fall and I couldn’t be happier. I love love love this time of year!! Everything is just beautiful right now….loving the colors, the smell, the crunch under our feet, and of course…pumpkins!! Today I took some friends out to the Country Farms pumpkin patch and we had a blast. It’s become an annual tradition since I moved to BC and I look forward to it every year. Here’s some photos from the day!

Homeward Bound

Well, I’m sitting at the Newark airport waiting to check in and fly home.
It’s been a whirlwind of a trip. I’m feeling kind of emotional thinking about how lucky I am to have done all I have in the last 9 days. And to be heading home to an amazing husband, dog, great friends, and some lots of fantastic work ahead of me. This whole year has been amazing and as my wedding season starts to wind down, I feel so incredibly grateful for all that has come my way.
Life is being really good to me right now and all I can do is smile and get a bit teary. I had such an amazing time over the last 9 days. Seeing my friends in Halifax, shooting such a special wedding, then spending 5 days with Dana NYC….it’s made me feel more appreciative of my life and I wasn’t expecting that. I really love Dana to bits and am so glad we got to do this together. It was all her doing (the NY part) and I’m SO glad she suggested I meet her here. It’s been an amazing time, with an amazing person and I couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you! xoxo

Halifax and NYC bound! Hit me up!

I’m off to Halifax tomorrow to shoot a wedding in Mahone Bay on the beautiful east coast! It’s my first time to Canada’s east coast and I seriously can’t wait to shoot there. I’m so stoked to do up some killer portraits out in that beautiful land of Nova Scotia!

I’ll be in Halifax for 5 days and then I’m off to NYC for 5 days of fun with my good friend Dana. I’m SO SO SO stoked to go back to NYC. It’s been 4 years since I was there with Kristopher and I’ve reeeeeeeeeally been missing it. I freaking love that city so much!!! I’ll be coming back with likely a few hundred gigs of photots once the 10 days is up. Yikes!!

So, that said, if anyone in either place wants to hook up for a little photog session or just for a beer, coffee, chat, drop me a line! Would love to meet some new peeps on the east side!

I’ll leave ya’ with some shots from my last NYC trip…..finally I’ll be there with a proper camera this time!

West End Wonderland @ Night

Here’s the rest of my shots from tonights little jaunt around the west end. At least being stuck in Vancouver allowed me a chance to get out and get some wintery shots like I’ve been craving to do all week!

The snow is soooooooo spectacular! The glow of the christmas lights on the the white puffy snow is just so mesmerizing. I love you winter. But try to not to get too cold, k?

Amazingly, no flash in any of these….just street light and the amazing 24mm 1.4 lens by Canon.

This is a bizarre little reindeer-woman thing that is in the window at Cookies by George. Everytime I walk by it I have to laugh as it’s just so strange. lol

I love ‘em.

One of the things I enjoy about weddings and events is capturing the little things like the decorations, table settings, ornaments, paperware and one of my favorites – jewelery. I love shooting jewelery because it’s so fun to be creative with, and well ring shots just look uber cool! HSBC Celebration of Light

July 24th already. Wow, where has the month gone too? Are we really half way through summer already?

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly time flies in the summer. Heck, all year seems to speed by at record pace! I swear, the older I get, the quicker my life seems to go! I shouldn’t complain I guess….’tis certainly a sign that my life is full of great things to keep time moving. I’d rather be super busy doing the things I love, than sittin’ around doing nothing and complaining about how boring life is!

Last night the HSBC Celebration of Lights started. Original plan was to hook up with some friends, but things changed and we just ended up staying in and catching what we could from the patio. I could see a few of the fireworks from the patio but there is one building that is right in direct view of them, so we only get to see the really big one. We will definitely head out for Saturday night’s show though. Saturday is the USA show, then China is on the 30th and the finale is Aug 2. Here’s a shot from the patio of last nights show…. good job Canada! (even though I couldn’t see it all, it sounded amazing)
