The holidays are upon us and I’m SUPER stoked to start up the Cans For Comments again this year. I first found out about it last Christmas when Chris +Lynn started it up in their blog. I quickly jumped on the can wagon right away as it’s such a great and easy way to give back. How does it work? SO EASY. For every comment you leave me on the blog over the next 3 weeks (that means YOU, reading this!), I will donate a can of food to the Vancouver Food Bank. That’s it! That’s all you gotta’ do. 10 seconds out of your day to leave a bit of love on the blog and you’ve donated to a great cause.
Last year I had a decent load of cans to take the bank, but I’d love to double it or even triple it this year. SO, you know what that means!! I’ll be posting as many entries as possible this month to try and keep the comments flowing. The more we can donate, the better!

Actually, I tend to get off my ass and do something that actually requires some effort- like volunteering at the Salvation Army to sort and hand out toys, buying some of those toys (obviously), helping to sort food at the Foodlink distribution center, and other year round things to help those less fortunate (Habitat for Humanity, dance marathons for disabled kids, etc).
I’m sorry, I guess I should do something TRULY noble like post on a blog for donations.. but only if they leave a dick fluffity comment

is so angry and hurtful. Whoever you are 
, can you lay off the inflammatory words? I mean it is Christmas. And as someone who donates many hours and food to causes relating to poverty, I find your rudeness distasteful and I am glad you are not representative of most people who give their time in service of others. I don’t know what your beef is with John but he is a good man with many friends and fans who love him and your sophomoric attempts to demean his reputation only make you look petty and sad. You don’t even have the honour to identify yourself and have your name stand behind your words. That’s a cowardly act and you know it. So why don’t you scrape together the self respect you have left and stop posting your hate rants. Walk away from your computer. Imagine how you would feel if someone did that to you! Have a heart. I hope you can find it in yourself to apologize to John. And if you are legitimately upset about something you need to learn a more appropriate way to communicate that. This is not that forum. This is a man’s art and business and he is dedicating some space to raise some modest awareness to a worthy cause. If everyone donated a dozen cans or so, the effects on needy people’s lives would be profound. We should never shun any action, even the smallest one, if it is in service of others.
