So for those that aren’t already in the know, I’m in Calgary right now! Been here since last Wednesday. The point of my trip was anything but leisure, but I’ve actually managed to fit in a few friend meet ups while here, which has really helped balance out my trip as it has been a bit on the stressfull side. I came down to look after my grandmother while she recovers from a fairly important surgery. The surgery was Thursday, she was supposed to be out Friday, but she’s still in the hospital today and wont out until tomorrow (Monday). Let’s just say things didn’t go as planned and there were quite a few complications. Luckily, she has pulled through some extremely touch and go moments and is now on the road the recovery. *phew* Today was her birthday and sadly, she had to spend it in the hospital….how crappy is that!? Me and my brother took her a little mini-birthday cake along with an enormous bouqet of flowers and balloons. It really helped bring her spirits up.
In between hospital visits, I’ve been filling my time with coffee shops, seeing old buddies and wandering the city shooting some of the things are truly “Calgary” to me. I’m so shocked at how much this city has changed in just a few years. SOOO many buildings are gone, so many neighborhoods completely changed. I figured I’d capture some of the things in this town that really stand out to me and places that really have some history or meaning to me. So, here is a sneak peak.
If you want to see the whole gallery from my trip, feel free to check it out here .
